The School of Law (SoL) is born out of a desire to provide quality legal education in India. It joins the existing five schools of RVU dealing with liberal arts and sciences, design, economics, business and computer science and engineering. Our students will be in a unique position to explore intersections between law and other disciplines such as business, economics, social sciences, technology and public policy. This intersectional approach will help the students look at law with a broader lens.

About the Dean

Prof. (Dr.) Y.S.R.Murthy

Prof. (Dr.) Y.S.R. Murthy assumed charge as the First Vice Chancellor of RV University, Bangalore recently. As a former civil servant from the 1985 batch of IAS and Allied Services, he held many responsible and sensitive assignments including in the National Human Rights Commission, Prime Minister’s Office, President’s Secretariat and Cabinet Secretariat. Between 2009 and 2020, Dr. Murthy steered the O.P. Jindal Global University during its rapid expansion phase as a part of its top leadership team as the Registrar. He contributed to its rise in international rankings and becoming an Institution of Eminence (IOE).

Prof. Y.S.R. Murthy has published several books, book chapters and journal articles. He holds a Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Statistics from the University of Madras, M.A. degree in Human Rights from the University of London and Ph.D. degree from the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. He secured University First Rank in M.Sc. and also the prestigious British Chevening Fellowship.

How to Apply?
1. Register for RVSAT* — 2023

(RV Scholastic Admission Test (RVSAT) is the national-level entrance exam for UG Programmes of RV University). Admission is based on the RVSAT entrance examination/CLAT/ LSAT examination. Apply Online to RVSAT here: https://admissions.rvu.edu.in/

2. RV University Selection Process

Applicants will undergo RVU selection Process depending on the course they have applied for and their score in RVSAT

3. Selection Letter

Subject to fulfilment of eligibility and admission criteria, applicants shall be issued a selection letter.

4. Programme Registration

Successful applicants in the above selection procedure shall be registered to the programme after receipt of registration fees as specified in the selection letter.

5. Provisional Admission Letter

Upon completion of the selection procedure, applicants shall be notified about the admission and a Provisional Admission Letter shall be issued.
