Himani Chahal is an Assistant Professor at the School of Business, RV University. She did her M. Com from Delhi School of Economics, and B. Com (Hons.) from Kamla Nehru College, University of Delhi. She holds a PhD degree from the Department of Management Studies, IIT Roorkee. Her research work is on Financial Performance of Family-Owned Businesses in India. Her research explores the impact of family involvement in business on its financial performance. The predominance of these businesses has got implications for financial institutions, shareholders, governance mechanisms, and management theories, making it an area much deserving of research. Her areas of research interests are Corporate Finance & Corporate Governance, Sustainability Finance, Family Business Management, Gender Diversity and business performance, entrepreneurial finance. She has presented conference papers in various National and International conferences. She has also published research papers in various reputed journals. She was an Assistant Professor at Christ (Deemed-to-be) University, Bangalore, before joining RV University. She was a Teaching Assistant for the NPTEL Online Certification course on ‘Financial Statement Analysis & Reporting,’ and ‘Working Capital Management,’ during the course of her Ph.D. at IITR. She is interested in teaching and developing courses on Finance & Accounting.
