The Centre for Contemporary Economics at RV University aims to promote an intellectual milieu that supports critical and creative thinking in the domain of Economics and development. The Centre aspires to work towards enhancing understanding of various pertinent issues by adopting a pluralist approach, pertaining to various economic, political, and social aspects. This becomes crucial as much of the economic orthodoxy and market fundamentalism have been unable to tackle development issues of underdeveloped economies. Further, the growing challenges of socio-economic inequalities and climate change increasingly warrant us to adopt a fresh approach in understanding, comprehending and dealing with various contemporary issues, thereby aiming to contribute significantly towards policy.
