Dr. Sarasvathi V is an accomplished academic and researcher with over 21 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. She is currently serving as a Professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at RV University, where she continues to inspire students and researchers alike. Her expertise spans across Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), and other emerging technologies, domains in which she has made significant scholarly and practical contributions.
She obtained her B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University in 2001, laying the foundation for her academic career. She further advanced her studies by completing her M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering with First Class and Distinction from Anna University, Chennai, in 2009. With a strong passion for research, she pursued doctoral studies at VIT University, Vellore, and earned her Ph.D. in 2016. Her doctoral thesis focused on quality-compliant cross-layer routing and allocation strategies in wireless mesh networks, a contribution that strengthened advancements in network optimization.
Dr. Sarasvathi has an extensive and diverse research record. She has published more than 50 papers in reputed journals and international conferences and has also filed two patents, underscoring her commitment to research-driven innovation. As a recognized doctoral supervisor under Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), she has successfully guided three Ph.D. scholars in areas including IoT optimization, machine learning applications in cognitive radio networks, and real-time environmental monitoring using analytics.
Prior to her association with RV University, Dr. Sarasvathi served at PES University for 16 years, one of the leading institutions, where she made substantial contributions to both academics and administration. She actively promoted student innovation and engagement by conducting Capstone Project Melas, organizing IEEE 24-hour Hackathons such as Kalpana and Code Fusion, facilitating alumni talks, and coordinating workshops and summer internships. She also spearheaded Capture the Flag (CTF) challenges in Cybersecurity, providing students with hands-on, industry-relevant exposure.
Her leadership roles at PES University included serving as Centre Head for Computer Networks and Cyber Security (CCNCS), M.Tech Coordinator, Capstone Project Coordinator, Curriculum Committee Member, Subject Anchor, and Test Coordinator. Through these roles, she has consistently demonstrated excellence in academic planning, program management, and curriculum development, contributing to institutional growth and student success.
