Born in Chennai, he began his journey as an engineering graduate whose curiosity for visual storytelling soon evolved into a deep passion for cinema. Starting with short films, he went on to formally study filmmaking, specializing in Cinematography at the LV Prasad Film & TV Academy.

He began his professional career as an Assistant Cinematographer, contributing to over 30 television commercials for leading brands such as Britannia and Hero Automobiles, as well as a Tamil feature film. These experiences refined his understanding of light, lensing, and cinematic language. During the pandemic, he transitioned into working independently, collaborating on ad films, short films, a music video for Saregama Tamil, and a Public Service Announcement for the Tamil Nadu Government. Each project allowed him to experiment with visual styles and storytelling techniques across varied formats.

Believing that filmmaking is a constant process of learning and unlearning, he found a natural extension of his practice in teaching. Through mentoring aspiring filmmakers, he discovered that sharing knowledge not only enriches students but also deepens his own artistic vision.

In addition to cinematography, he expanded his creative journey into independent producing, exploring the business side of cinema. To strengthen this dimension, he pursued a Media and Entertainment Management program at the Loyola Institute of Business Administration. This blend of artistic and managerial expertise enables him to approach filmmaking holistically—balancing visual creativity with strategic project management.

Today, he continues to navigate the evolving landscape of cinema—as a cinematographer, educator, and producer—committed to telling stories that are visually compelling, emotionally resonant, and intellectually engaging.
