Message from Dean of Research and Collaboration Initiatives & Ranking
At RV University, research and innovation are fundamental components of our mission. We are dedicated to establishing a research ecosystem fueled by curiosity, promoting collaboration, and focused on generating societal impact. Research at RVU encompasses a wide range of fields, including computer science, design and innovation, liberal arts and sciences, economics and business, law, healthcare, continuing education and professional studies, as well as film, media, and creative arts. Consequently, we foster an environment where interdisciplinary research is commonplace. Faculty members across various schools are acknowledged for their academic accomplishments and frequently publish in prestigious peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and other platforms.
RVU boasts a vibrant community of undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD scholars. Research becomes more significant when it is connected to practical applications. Faculty, PhD scholars, and students regularly engage with challenging issues from the industry. We have only just begun, and we are steadily progressing towards establishing RVU as a world-class university.
Prof. (Dr.) Abdul Sakib Mondal
Doctoral Research at RVU
RVU launched a PhD programme in the academic year (AY) 2021-22, i.e. in the very first year that the University began academic operations. In the AY 2021-22, RVU admitted its first batch of PhD scholars. Today, after 5 admissions cycles, RVU has a total of 102 PhD scholars enrolled across 7 schools, including 09 full-time and 93 part-time scholars. This includes 18 faculty and staff members from RVU itself.
The Office of Research and Doctoral Studies at RVU coordinates the PhD programme at RVU. Through annual admissions cycles, the Office of Research and Doctoral Studies admits both part time and full time research scholars in the PhD programme. Full-time PhD scholars are eligible to apply for a doctoral research fellowship, in accordance with the Doctoral Research Fellowship Policy of the University.
RVU’s part time PhD programme attracts senior working professionals from various sectors such as industry, law, medicine, academia, etc. Our part time PhD scholars formulate research questions based on their experience as working professionals in various sectors. Thus, they address actual problems in the industry and aim to solve them through their research, thereby bridging the gap between research and practice.
RVU’s PhD programme is in compliance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of PhD Degree) Regulations, 2022.
