About

Dr. Poornima K is an accomplished academician and management professional with over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. She holds a PhD in Management from VTU, an MBA specializing in Human Resources and Marketing, with PGDFM, and brings a strong interdisciplinary perspective to management education. Currently serving as an Associate Professor, she has been associated with Corporates and Entrepreneurial Eco-system institutions and has consistently contributed to the development of future business leaders.

Dr. Poornima believes in integrating theoretical concepts with practical insights, fostering experiential learning, and preparing students for dynamic industry challenges. She has also actively contributed to curriculum development, industry–academia collaboration, and student mentoring initiatives, especially in the Entrepreneurial space.

Beyond teaching, she has demonstrated strong research and consultancy capabilities. She has undertaken funded projects and consultancy assignments in areas such as HR module development and marketing analytics. Her engagement in faculty development programs, workshops, and conferences reflects her commitment to continuous learning and academic excellence.

Bridging academia and industry to create meaningful learning experiences

Presented papers in national and international conferences to enhance research capabilities and published articles in Journals, Book Chapters and written Case Let Book on HRM

Won Best Paper Awards in Jain CMS (2020), New Horizon College of Engineering (2017) and R V Institute of Management (2016)

Guided many students for writing Research articles and to highlight, few students received Stipend for the research work submitted to Indian Knowledge System.

Interested in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and institutional research culture through active involvement in academic and industry collaborations

Instrumental in initiating the activities under the Institution Innovation Council Cell, ABBS, and received a TWO-STAR rating in 2023-24 and 2024-25
