Aparna R is working as an assistant professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering. She has over twenty years of experience in academia and the software industry. She is currently pursuing her research in the area of cloud security. She has worked at Yahoo Software Development India Pvt. Ltd as a senior software engineer and at CloudThat Technologies as an AWS consultant. She has served in various academic positions at Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology, NITK Surathkal, Reva Institute of Technology and Management, and MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore. She is an AWS certified solution architect, developer associate and DevOps professional. Her areas of expertise lie in Data Structures, Database Technologies, Web Technologies, Cloud Computing and Linux System Programming. She has delivered Tech talks in the areas of NoSQL databases, AWS, High Performance Computing. She was a member of Board of Studies in a few Engineering colleges of Bangalore. She has published many research papers in reputed conferences and journals. She is a life member of the Computer Society of India (CSI) and a member of IEEE.

Collaborated with Centre for Holistic Nutrition at the Trans-Disciplinary University, Bangalore from July 2019 to December 2019, and worked on Digitization of traditional Ayurveda recipes with nutrition information and provide avenues for new recipes, which was a project sponsored by Rural India Support Trust (RIST), a trust that wants to make an impact on Rural India. Outcome of this work was a web application hosted on AWS Cloud Platform which was very well received and appreciated by stakeholders of this project.

Submitted a proposal entitled “Cloud-assisted recipe advisor with nutrition diet park application” to RIT seed funding and was approved a sum of Rs. 3,00,000/- during Feb 2021 to Jan 2023
