QISKIT FALL FEST 2026
About
A student-run week of quantum computing
Qiskit Fall Fest is a global season of student-led quantum events organised with IBM Quantum. In 2026 it comes to RV University, Bengaluru.
Each afternoon is a working session, not a lecture: participants write circuits, run them on simulators and real IBM Quantum hardware, and leave with code that works. The week closes with a 24-hour hackathon where teams build something of their own based on the ideas from the previous four days.
Schedule
Five days, drawn as a circuit. Each day is a working session; the hackathon spans the final two days, 16–17 October.
| Date | Session | What it covers | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| 13 Oct · Tue | Foundations of Quantum Computing with Qiskit | Qubits, superposition and measurement — your first circuit on the IBM Quantum Platform. | 15:00 – 17:00 IST |
| 14 Oct · Wed | Quantum Circuit Design, Multi-Qubit Systems and Quantum Hardware | Entanglement, circuit composition and transpilation — what the hardware actually executes. | 15:00 – 17:00 IST |
| 15 Oct · Thu | Noise, Error Mitigation and Advanced Qiskit Workflows | Why real devices return imperfect results, and the Qiskit tooling that recovers signal from them. | 15:00 – 17:00 IST |
| 16 Oct · Fri | Quantum Algorithms and Quantum Machine Learning using Qiskit | From textbook algorithms to variational circuits and quantum machine learning. | 15:00 – 17:00 IST |
| 16–17 Oct | IBM Quantum Challenge Hackathon (24 hours) | Starts 20:00 on 16 Oct, ends 20:00 on 17 Oct. Run by the organising team. | 16 Oct 20:00 → 17 Oct 20:00 IST |
Schedule is tentative — speakers and rooms are confirmed closer to the date.
Hackathon
24 hours. One long night of quantum code.
The IBM Quantum Challenge Hackathon starts the moment Friday’s session ends and runs straight through to Saturday evening. Teams pick a prompt, build with Qiskit, and present working code — not slides.
Timing: Starts 16 Oct, 20:00 IST · ends 17 Oct, 20:00 IST
- Prompts released at kickoff
- Mentors from the organising team on the floor all night
- Open to everyone attending the workshop week
Speakers
Speakers for each session are announced as they are confirmed with IBM Quantum and partner institutions. Below is what each session will cover.
| Day | Topic | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 · 13 Oct | Foundations with Qiskit | Superposition, measurement, first circuits. |
| Day 2 · 14 Oct | Circuits & hardware | Multi-qubit systems and real devices. |
| Day 3 · 15 Oct | Noise & error mitigation | Advanced Qiskit workflows. |
| Day 4 · 16 Oct | Algorithms & QML | Variational circuits and machine learning. |
Speaker to be confirmed for all four sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can attend?
Any student, faculties, research scholar from any discipline. The sessions are built for people meeting quantum computing for the first time, and the later days go deep enough to stay interesting if you have seen it before.
Do I need to know quantum physics?
No. Comfort with basic Python and linear algebra helps, but day 1 starts from qubits and builds up from there.
What should I install beforehand?
Python 3 and Qiskit. A setup guide goes out to registered participants before day 1, and there is help at the start of the first session if anything breaks.
Do I have to attend all five days?
The days build on each other, so attending the full week is strongly recommended — especially if you plan to join the hackathon.
Will I get a certificate?
Certificate details are confirmed closer to the event and announced on the event page.
