Dr. Kavya S is an Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, RV University, Bengaluru. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Presidency University, Bengaluru, with a thesis on the Numerical Exploration of MHD Flow in a Suspension of Newtonian/Non-Newtonian Hybrid Nanofluid over a Cylinder, and completed her M.Sc. and B.Sc. from the University of Mysore, graduating with a Gold Medal in her undergraduate degree.

Prior to joining RV University, she served as Assistant Professor in Mathematics at NMIMS (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, and at ATME College of Engineering, Mysuru, where she taught a wide range of courses including Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics, Operations Research, and Data Visualization using Python, Tableau, and Power BI, across programs in Data Science, Applied Statistics, Engineering, Economics, and Commerce.

Her areas of specialization include Fluid Dynamics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics. Her research on hybrid nanofluid flow and heat transfer has been published in reputed journals such as the International Communications in Heat and Mass Transfer and ZAMM and other reputed Scopus indexed & Web of Science journals with contributions to international conferences in India. She has co-authored a book, Introduction to Linear Algebra with its Applications for Data Scientists and Engineers (2020), and was recognized as the Best Researcher (2021–22) at NMIMS Bengaluru.

An active resource person, she has led faculty development workshops on Python, R, and SPSS for research and data analytics, including sessions at the University of Mysore. She is committed to mentoring students, guiding research projects, and fostering interdisciplinary learning at the intersection of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
