About

Dr. Sruthi K S is an Assistant Professor in the School of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Central University of Karnataka, with her doctoral thesis focused on exploring the multi-dimensional risk factors, protective factors, consequences, and self-management strategies of cardiac anxiety among young adults. Her areas of specialization lie in Health Psychology and Clinical Psychology with a focused interest in cardiac anxiety, cardiovascular health, mental health of young adults, and mental health help-seeking behaviour.

Before joining RV University, she was working as an Assistant Professor of Psychology in the Department of Basic Sciences at SR University, Warangal, Telangana, and also served as the Assistant Dean-Research in the same department.

She has qualified UGC NET & JRF in 2022 and GATE (AIR 623) in 2025. She is a university third-rank holder in the Psychology Postgraduate Examination (Central University of Karnataka) and a university seventh-rank holder in the Psychology Undergraduate Examination (Calicut University, Kerala).
Dr. Sruthi has published her research works in reputed Scopus-indexed Q1 journals with Publishers such as Nature Portfolio and Springer Nature. She has presented seven research papers at various international and national conferences. Also, she has conducted several research-related workshops, particularly on systematic literature review and qualitative research methods for students, research scholars, and professionals. She also served as a peer reviewer for various reputable journals, including Frontiers in Psychology (Sections such as Health Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Organizational Psychology), Frontiers in Psychiatry, Frontiers in Health Services, Frontiers in Public Health, and Discover Mental Health.

Risk factors and consequences of cutaneous allodynia among individuals with migraine: A scoping review
This scoping review aimed to determine the risk factors and consequences of cutaneous allodynia in individuals with migraine. A total of 47 studies were included from the 2116 retrieved studies. The study highlighted various risk factors such as psychological, migraine-associated, neurophysiological, biological, socio-demographic, and lifestyle-related factors. The identified consequences were classified as mental health, physical health, neurophysiological, migraine-associated, and treatment-related consequences. The evaluation of risk factors and consequences of cutaneous allodynia among individuals with migraine significantly highlighted the multidimensional risk factors of cutaneous allodynia and its debilitating effects on the lives of the affected individuals. These factors are significant for designing targeted, multifaceted interventions for managing cutaneous allodynia and thus provide an essential step in effective migraine management.

Barriers to implementation of digital transformation in the Indian health sector: a systematic review
This systematic review attempted to identify the potential barriers to the implementation of digital transformation in the health sector of India. Systematic searches were employed across databases PubMed, PsycINFO, Science Direct, Web of Science, and Google Scholar for studies that reported digital transformation in India from inception to December 2022. Following narrative synthesis, studies were assessed for quality using JBI and the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT). The findings revealed that, although digital transformation in India’s health sector occurred rapidly, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, there are still potential barriers that impede its successful implementation in the country. Barriers identified are mainly associated with limited technological and medical infrastructure, data security and privacy, and a lack of physical examination.

Influence of traditional maternity practices on healthcare-seeking behaviour among tribal women in Alluri Sitharama Raju District-Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh, March 2026
This qualitative study aimed to explore and understand the influence of tribal mothers on making decisions to seek healthcare in a tribal area of Alluri Sitarama Raju District, Andhra Pradesh, which is located in the northeast of the state. Focus group discussion (FGD) and semi-structured interviews were conducted. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the FGD and semi-structured interview data. The data analysis generated the following seven themes: Theme 1: Traditional Practices. Theme 2: Traditional vs Modern Healthcare. Theme 3: Maternal Dietary Practices. Theme 4: Role of Family in Decision-Making. Theme 5: Postpartum and Infant Care. Theme 6: Access to Healthcare. Theme 7: Emotional and Physical Challenges.
Interventions to manage cardiac anxiety among individuals with cardiovascular diseases and non-cardiac chest pain: A systematic review-Amal College of Advanced Studies, Nilambur, January 2025
A systematic review that identified the various interventions to manage cardiac anxiety among cardiac patients and non-cardiac chest pain patients. The major intervention identified was different modes of cognitive-behavioural therapy, and the other interventions were based on patient expectations on coronary surgery outcomes and multimedia education in combination with the teach‑back method. Cardiac anxiety was presented as either a primary outcome or a secondary outcome in the studies reviewed. Apart from cardiac anxiety, the interventions were effective for other variables such as depression, anxiety, quality of life, fear of body sensations, etc.
Investigating the Role of Emotional Eating in the Relationship between Acculturative Stress and Body Image Dissatisfaction- SGT University, Haryana, September 2024
This research investigates the relationship between acculturative stress, emotional eating, and body image dissatisfaction. A correlational study was conducted, and the results from mediational analysis underscored the significant role of emotional eating in elucidating the link between acculturative stress and body image dissatisfaction. While the direct impact of acculturative stress on body dissatisfaction may seem modest, the mediation by emotional eating amplifies its overall effect, highlighting the complexity of these relationships.
Mental health help-seeking interventions among emerging adults: A systematic review-Shri Vaishnava Institute of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts, Madhya Pradesh, December 2023
The review focused on various types of interventions to enhance the mental health treatment-seeking behaviour of emerging adults aged 18 to 25 years old. It was also found that various interventions like school-based, community- based, mobile-based programmes, psychoeducation, and 24-hour telephonic delivery were effective in promoting the mental health treatment-seeking behaviour, enhancing the mental health literacy, including awareness of mental health, mental health issues, mental health services, etc.

Mental health help-seeking barriers and facilitators among emerging adults: A systematic review using the socio-ecological model framework-Lovely Professional University, Punjab, June 2023
This systematic review investigated the barriers and facilitators of mental health help-seeking behaviour among emerging adults, which operate at multiple levels, including individual, interpersonal, organisational, community, and public, and have been identified using the socio-ecological model. The most identified barriers using the socio-ecological model were operating at the individual level, and few barriers were identified in the other levels. The facilitators are mostly at the individual level, and only a few operate at the interpersonal level.

Doctoral research was a qualitative study that explored the multi-dimensional risk factors, protective factors, consequences, and self-management strategies of cardiac anxiety among young adults using an exploratory research design. The data were collected using semi- structured interviews from young adults with high cardiac anxiety as assessed by the cardiac anxiety questionnaire. These individuals were young adults without any cardiac diseases, and the data were analysed using reflexive thematic analysis
