About

Tanmoy Goswami is an Electronics and Instrumentation Engineer turned television professional, filmmaker, researcher, and educator.

Born into a Bengali family deeply rooted in Indian classical music and Bengali literature, his creative journey began with painting and analog photography before evolving into writing and filmmaking.

With nearly 14 years of experience in the television industry, he has worked with leading media networks in India, including Viacom18, Disney Star, Zee, Sun Network, Aakash Aath, and others. He has worked across the departments of writing, direction, and production, contributing to more than 25 television series and over 3,000 episodes as a writer, assistant director, episode director, and creative producer. He also served briefly as Senior Manager – Station Programming ( Producer) at Radio Mirchi, Kolkata.

An MA in Mass Communication & Journalism, Tanmoy teaches filmmaking, media, and culture. He has served as visiting faculty at Brainware University and Inspiria Knowledge Campus, and is currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Film, Media, and Creative Arts (SoFMCA), RV University, Bengaluru.

He has presented papers at national and international conferences on Indigenous knowledge systems, media inequality, media literacy, citizen journalism, cultural communication, and digital media. He regularly publishes in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes, contributing book chapters and scholarly articles on cinema, media, communication, and cultural studies. His academic and creative work explores the intersections of cinema, communication, culture, and society.
