Overview

The Centre for Ethics at RV University aims to cultivate ethical thinking, reflection, and self-expression to promote human flourishing and ethical conduct. To achieve this, the centre will organise activities that equip students, scholars, professionals, and the public with the knowledge and skills to study, inform, and shape a society that values human well-being and justice.

In today’s complex and uncertain world, there’s a growing need for ethical thinking in academia, professions, and public life. The centre draws on various disciplines like religion, philosophy, science, and social inquiry to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and scholarship on moral values and contemporary ethical issues.

As an interdisciplinary, cross-university centre, the Centre for Ethics sponsors national and international conferences, professional workshops, lecture series, public debates and seminars that create synergy among scholars, scientists, business leaders, and policymakers for exploring rigorously, dialogically, and respectfully the grounds of individual and collective ethical thought and public action.
