Students’ Grievances Redressal
RV University is committed to providing a fair, transparent, and supportive learning environment. In accordance with the RV University Act – Chapter V, Clauss (33) and UGC (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023 – Notification issued on 11th April, 2023, the Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) has been established to address and resolve student concerns impartially. SGRC offers a platform for students to express their grievances/problems freely and frankly.

Grievance Redressal Procedure
Step 1: Filing a Grievance
Where to File?
Students must submit grievances via any of the following methods:
Online: RVU Website/ RVU Student Grievance Portal (https://forms.gle/iBiLpeiUfUd2Mwh6A)
Email: You can send your grievances to this email with necessary documentary evidence to grievance@rvu.edu.in
Hard Copy: Submit a signed letter to the Dean, Student Affairs Office
Before You File, Ensure You Have:
Personal Details: Full name, University Seat Number (USN) (for enrolled students), your official RVU email ID and phone number ((ideally WhatsApp number).
Academic Details: Your School (e.g., SoCSE, SoLAS) and current program/year of study.
Statement of Facts: A clear description of the grievance with all material facts.
Evidence: Any supporting documents or proof (with a brief explanation for each attachment).
Timeline: A grievance can be filed anytime, but preferably within 15 days of the issue occurring & after there is a reasonable effort to resolve the same at School level through faculty, mentor, program director, or Dean of the school.
Step 2: Initial Review & Acknowledgment
On receipt of an online complaint, the university shall refer the complaint to the appropriate Students' Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC), along with its comments within 15 days of receipt of complaint on the online portal.
Step 3: Scheduling the SGRC Meeting
The Students' Grievance Redressal Committee, as the case may be, shall fix a date for hearing the complaint, which shall be communicated to the institution and the aggrieved student.
Step 4: Presenting the Case
An aggrieved student may appear either in person or authorize a representative to present the case.
Step 5: Referring to the Ombudsperson
If grievances are not resolved by the Students' Grievance Redressal Committee within the time period provided regulations, the aggrieved student may refer to the Ombudsperson of the university through email. Institutions shall extend co-operation to the Ombudsperson or the Student Grievance Redressal Committee(s), in early redressal of grievances.
Step 6: Decision of Ombudsperson
The Ombudsperson shall, after giving reasonable opportunities of being heard to the parties concerned, on the conclusion of proceedings, pass such order, with reasons thereof, as may be deemed fit to redress the grievance and provide such relief as may be appropriate to the aggrieved student
The institution, as well as the aggrieved student, shall be provided with copies of the order under the signature of the Ombudsperson. The institution shall comply with the recommendations of the Ombudsperson.
Step 7: False Complaint
The Ombudsperson may recommend appropriate action against the complainant, where a complaint is found to be false or frivolous.
Step 8: Report to VC
The committee (SGRC) will submit a report to the Vice Chancellor's office within 15 days of receiving the complaint. Subsequently, the committee will continue to submit follow-up reports at appropriate junctures of the grievance redressal process till the matter is resolved.
