Governance

RV University follows a robust governance framework focused on academic integrity, transparency and effective institutional management. Its governing bodies provide strategic direction, policy oversight and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The Board of Management oversees the university’s overall administration and long-term planning, while the Board of Studies guides curriculum development and academic standards. The Academic Council plays a central role in academic policy, quality assurance and the advancement of teaching and research.

Together, these bodies ensure effective governance and responsible decision-making across the university.

Committees

Equal Opportunity Cell

The Equal Opportunity Cell at RV University is committed to promoting inclusivity, fairness and equal access across the campus community. It works to ensure a supportive academic and work environment free from discrimination. The cell addresses concerns related to equity and fosters awareness of rights, responsibilities and inclusive practices.

Women Empowerment Cell

The Women Empowerment Cell at RV University focuses on creating a safe, respectful and enabling environment for women students and staff. It undertakes initiatives aimed at awareness, support and empowerment through education and engagement. The cell encourages participation, leadership and well-being across the university community.

Statutory Committees

Academic Council

In accordance with the provisions in the RV University Act – Chapter IV, Clause (26) the Academic Council is the Principal Academic body of RV University.

Board of Management

In accordance with the provisions in the RV University Act – Chapter IV, Clause (25) the Board of Management is the Executive body of RV University.

Finance Committee

In accordance with the provisions in the RV University Act – Chapter IV, Clause (28) and as per Clause (47) the Finance Committee is hereby re-constituted.

Fee Regulatory Committee

RV University (RVU) was established through the RV University Act, 2019, an act to establish and incorporate in the State of Karnataka a University of unitary in nature in private sector.

Board of Governors

In accordance with the provisions in the RV University Act-Chapter IV, Clause (24) the Principal Governing Body of RV University is the Board of Governors.

University Grievance Committees

Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

In accordance with the provisions in the RV University Act – Chapter V, Clause (33) and as per Government of India Gazette Notification of 2016.

Anti Ragging Committee (ARC)

In accordance with the provisions in the RV University Act – Chapter V, Clause (33), UGC Notification of 4 July 2009 in the Gazette of India.

Legal Cell (LC)

The Legal Cell is constituted with the objective of hassle-free work of the RV University without any legal obstruction. For this purpose, legal vetting for internal and external matters such as litigation, investigations and its compliance.

Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC)

As per the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC), RV University has established an Equal Opportunity Cell to promote equal opportunities and social justice for all students.

Women Empowerment Cell (WEC)

The cell’s responsibilities include creating awareness about women’s rights, providing a platform for discussion, promoting professional and personal development through various activities, and ensuring a campus free from injustice and harassment.

Approvals

It is also recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI).
