This talk will address the fundamentals of Ayurveda as a system of healing in India. Given the complexity of the definitions of science, health, and medicine in contemporary times. Ayurveda has often been accused of being a pseudo-science. The foundational questions around health and wellness as well as the perspectives of the body in contemporary times create this issue. Allopathy sometimes seems in direct contradiction with the methods of Ayurveda. Is it possible to have scientific methodology and ancient healing come together to create a system of medicine for the large population of India? What are the ethical moral and social implications of Ayurveda and its influence and impact in India.
