Information Security (Infosec) research includes dealing with protection and mitigation of threats to information systems. Although the technical, externally focused efforts on security subsystems and prevention of intrusion are important, one area that is a predominant weakness in properly securing information assets is the individual user. Institutional pressure and security systems allow us to overcome the limitations of Dunbar numbers by allowing people to trust systems instead of people. Trust is the fundamental pillar of behavioral infosec research. It is this trust that can foster digital, social, and financial inclusion, that is among the goals of the 2030 UN Agenda for Sustainable Development.
