About the Speaker:

Dr. Alphonsa Jose K is an academic and researcher in applied psychology, with a particular focus on environmental psychology. She completed her PhD in Applied Psychology from Pondicherry University in 2020, with her research titled "Constructing Eco-friendly Houses: Application of the Theory of Planned Behaviour," under the guidance of Prof. Surendra K Sia. Her academic journey includes a PG Diploma in Industrial Psychology (2016) and a Master of Science in Applied Psychology (2015) with a specialization in Clinical Psychology, both from Pondicherry University. Her academic achievements include qualifying for the UGC-National Eligibility Test in 2016 and being awarded the UGC-Maulana Azad National Junior Research Fellowship in 2018. Dr. Jose is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore Yeshwanthpur Campus. She has also been involved in research projects funded by prestigious institutions such as ICSSR and CHRIST University, focusing on areas like college readiness and reducing household energy use through normative approaches. Dr. Jose has published extensively in reputable journals and has contributed chapters to edited books and encyclopedias, covering topics ranging from conservation behavior to positive mental health. In addition to her academic and research contributions, Dr. Jose is actively involved in various professional activities. She serves as a peer reviewer for esteemed journals and open science platforms, and she holds leadership roles in clubs and initiatives such as the Service-Learning Club and the Climate Lab, an undergraduate environmental psychology research group. Dr. Jose actively devices strategies and mentors the Department of Psychology, Bangalore Yeshwanthpur campus as the Internal Quality Assurance cell faculty coordinator and strategic plan member
