The Master of Arts (M.A.) is a postgraduate degree programme of two-year duration offering specialisations in Film, Philosophy and Culture Studies
Specialisations
The MA in Film, Philosophy and Culture Studies is the first Liberal Arts Postgraduate Programme in India to offer a multidisciplinary study of film, art and media criticism for students, aspiring journalists, culture curators and early and mid-career professionals seeking to enhance their cross-cultural understanding.
Students undertaking this programme will be eligible for Indian and global, doctoral and interdisciplinary research projects in world cinema and film studies, philosophy of the arts, Indian aesthetics and emerging specialisations in the appreciation, interpretation and communication of visual cultures.
This unique and interdisciplinary taught Master’s program in Liberal Arts offers broad and in-depth, research-led, education experience that will enhance critical and philosophical skills in thinking, interpreting, writing and review of influential global and local culture icons/ artefacts.
Career Pathways
Candidates successfully completing the programme will acquire scholarly understandings of the fields of practice for academic careers in film, philosophy, performing arts, culture and area studies. Graduates seeking industry pathways will be provided training and practice in curation, criticism, entertainment journalism and writing on cinema and OTT media.
