Dr. Baidurya Chakrabarti is a scholar of South Asian cinemas and South Asian popular cultures. He holds a bachelors and masters in English and a doctorate in cultural studies.
In his younger years, Baidurya explored documentary filmmaking, published “little magazines,” wrote prose and poetry in both Bengali and English—all while working in the ITES sector. Eventually, he decided to pursue his true strength: scholarly research. He earned a MA in English, specializing in Literary and Cultural Studies, from the English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, graduating with an Outstanding grade. He did his PhD under the mentorship of the esteemed Prof. M. Madhava Prasad, whose seminal work, Ideology of Hindi Film: A Historical Construction, remains foundational to Indian Film Studies.
During his PhD, Baidurya worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant with renowned British film theorist, producer, and writer Prof. Colin MacCabe, former editor of Screen magazine and Critical Quarterly. He also contributed significantly as a Film History Research Fellow for Indiancine.ma, a project dedicated to archiving and annotating South Asian cinema. Additionally, he spent a year teaching underprivileged rural students at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Nuzvid, Andhra Pradesh.
His doctoral research, ‘Mapping the Ideological Terrain of Contemporary Bollywood,’ provided a critical lens on the industry’s ideological frameworks. Following this, he gained valuable experience in academic publishing, working as a copy editor at esteemed publishing houses, including Orient BlackSwan.
Before joining as an Assistant Professor at the School of Film, Media & Creative Arts, RV University, Bengaluru, Baidurya served as Head of the Media & Communication program at Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication (SCMC), Pune. There, he designed Film Production and Film Studies curricula, supervised award-winning student films, managed studio and media lab facilities, and mentored faculty.

Ghanshyam Sharma is an empirical microeconomist with a focus on public and health economics. He has a PhD in Economics from Clemson University, USA. He has previously taught at State University of New York (Oswego), Seton Hall University, and Hiram College. He has also worked at the Planning Commission of India, National Council of Applied Economics Research (NCAER), and Centre for Civil Society.
He was also an Adam Smith Fellow at the Mercatus Center, George Mason University and Koch Summer Fellow, Department of Philosophy, University of New Orleans.
Rajani Balaji brings 24 years of rich experience spanning academia and the corporate sector. As an Assistant Professor at the School of Business, she is passionate about teaching and committed to nurturing a student-centered learning environment.
She holds an MBA from Christ University and is currently pursuing her PhD. Her teaching approach focuses on blending conceptual clarity with practical applications, ensuring students are well-equipped for academic and professional success.
I am a Doctorate (PhD) from Griffith University, Australia. My research interest lies within the interrelated fields of E-commerce; Urban & Regional Planning; Retail Geography; and Human Research Management. I have completed Master of Business Administration (MBA) with dual specialisation in Finance and Human Resource Management from Doon University, India.
During my stay in Australia as an international PhD student, I have gained the experience to initiate collaboration with industries in the international platform as one of Australia’s largest shopping centre management company voluntarily participated in the research and facilitated in obtaining relevant data. The research findings provided suggestions for shopping centres in terms of leasing strategy.
Overall, my long term research objective and aspiration is to achieve sustainable consumption by assisting individuals/entrepreneurs especially the small businesses in adapting digital transformation and alleviate poverty.
Chrizzy holds a Master’s in Design from Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology, where they specialized in Industrial Design Arts and Design Practices. They have worked on diverse projects ranging from handling client projects, art direction for short films, set designing for multiple photos to social impact initiatives.
As an educator, she is dedicated to nurturing creativity and critical thinking among students. She emphasizes a hands-on, interdisciplinary approach, encouraging learners to explore the intersection of technology, aesthetics, and functionality. Her teaching philosophy revolves around equipping students with practical skills, fostering resilience, and cultivating an empathetic design mindset to address real-world challenges.
When not immersed in teaching or research, she enjoys playing basketball and touring on her motorcycle along with her dog and cat. Their goal is to inspire the next generation of designers to think boldly, design responsibly, and innovate with purpose.
Prof. (Dr.) Arindam Mitra is a distinguished academic leader with over 16 years of experience in allied health sciences. Currently serving as the Professor and Dean at the School of Allied Healthcare Professions, RV University, Bengaluru, Dr. Mitra is renowned for his commitment to advancing education and research through innovation and strategic leadership.
Dr. Mitra received his doctorate from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA, Dr. Mitra has an extensive research portfolio, including developing live attenuated vaccines and genetic studies on bacterial pathogenesis. He has held prestigious positions such as Postdoctoral Research Associate at Arizona State University’s Biodesign Institute, Head of the Department of Biological Sciences at Adamas University.
Dr. Mitra has significantly contributed to the scientific community, authoring two textbooks and over 35 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. As an editor and reviewer for international journals, he continues influencing research direction in his domain. His work has been supported by numerous grants and awards, including regular funding from the Microbiology Society, UK, for organizing international conferences and workshops. Beyond research, Dr. Mitra is a passionate educator. He has developed innovative curricula and facilitated interdisciplinary learning for undergraduate and postgraduate students. His administrative expertise has led to the successful execution of various strategic initiatives, enhancing academic quality and student engagement.

I hold a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from IISc, Bangalore, with over 22 years of experience spanning research labs, industry, and academia. My career began at DRDO, Delphi, and GE, where I contributed to innovative projects in aerospace and automotive engineering. Later, as a faculty member at PES University and Dayananda Sagar University, I combined my passion for teaching with impactful research.
As a Principal Investigator, I led multiple funded projects, including an ARDB-sponsored study on active flutter suppression using shape memory alloys and several initiatives supported by Dassault Systèmes La Fondation. These projects focused on eco-friendly materials, hybrid composites, and 3D-printed structures.
My contributions include journal publications, conference presentations, and patents, reflecting my expertise in materials, structural mechanics, and design. Currently, I am passionate about soft robotics, exploring its applications in integrating advanced materials with automation.
Dr. Sen is an Assistant Professor at the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, RV University. Prior to this he taught at the Department of Political Science, St. Joseph’s University, Bengaluru. With a specialization in critical border studies, his research focuses on the logic of domestic-international linkage in foreign policy.
His doctoral work analyses the impacts of statist essentialisms concerning on-going conflicts, on discerning actor interests, grounds for intervention and resolution policies. His field work experience involves navigating conflict zones, and engaging with borderland communities to understand the impacts of state narrativization of conflicts on local lives and perceptions.
His research explores inequalities and insecurities in post-conflict zones. He is particularly interested in how informal negotiations and the replication of formal institutions shape local relations in the absence of the state. His work also delves into locally generated processes and adaptations that help stabilize communities in such contexts. Outside of academia, he enjoys films, football, and video games.
