Ms. Dhanashree. S is an educator, researcher, and academic administrator with expertise in clinical and plant biochemistry, phytochemistry, and applied health sciences. Her research bridges laboratory science and traditional medicinal knowledge, with a special focus on bioactive compounds for the potential management of neuropsychiatric disorders.
Born and raised in a small town in The Nilgiris, near Kerala, Ms. Dhanashree earned her B.Sc. in Biochemistry from CMS College of Science and Commerce, Coimbatore. She completed her undergraduate internship at the Pasteur Institute of Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, gaining hands-on training in DPT and Anti-rabies vaccine production.
She went on to pursue her M.Sc. in Biochemistry at Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, undertaking a six-month research project titled “A Remedy to Knockdown Hyperlipidemia-Based Atherosclerosis Using Crataegus oxyacantha – Analysis through In-Silico Molecular Docking Studies” under the guidance of Dr. K. S. Jayachandran, Department of Bioinformatics.
Her professional career began at Shree Venkateshwara College of Paramedical Sciences – Allied Health Sciences, Gobichettipalayam, where she contributed to both academics and administration, served as Chief Superintendent of Examinations for The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University (AHS), and taught Nursing as well as Arts and Science students. She later joined HKBK College of Physiotherapy and Allied Health Sciences, Bangalore, as Coordinator and Internship In-Charge for AHS and BPT programs, managing training, internships, and curriculum delivery.
Ms Dhanashree has presented papers at both national and international conferences and has authored research and review articles, with her most recent manuscript currently under peer review.
Presently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. at CMS College of Science and Commerce under Dr. V. Nandhini, focusing on the phytochemical profiling and medicinal potential of Abutilon hirtum (Lam) Sweet (Malvaceae). She remains committed to advancing scientific research, fostering student growth, and contributing to evidence-based healthcare innovation.
