This comprehensive workshop provides hands-on experience in deep learning, equipping the learners with the skills necessary to delve into the advanced topics of natural language processing and computer vision.
Brief Introduction of the speaker
Ms. Usha is the head of data science research at Exa Protocol and the world’s first female triple Kaggle Grandmaster. She specializes in Deep Learning and Probabilistic Graphical Models. Usha has judged prestigious competitions like Tiger Graph’s “Graph for all β Million Dollar Challenge” and Intel’s oneAPI Hackathon.
She has been recognized as one of India’s top ten Data Scientists in 2020 and one of the top ten women data scientists in 2021. Ms. Usha organized India’s first-ever NeuroAI research symposium and the Neurodiversity India Summit. She has won competitions such as Google’s “ML in Action” and the WiDS 2022 Datathon at Stanford University. Usha has also been honored with the Kaggle ML Research spotlight in 2022 and the TensorFlow Community Spotlight in 2023.

Workshop Outcomes
- Implement Artificial Neural Network (ANN) from scratch, using Numpy and PyTorch.
- Implement CNN using PyTorch for image classification.
- Understand transfer learning and fine-tuning of a pre-trained CNN model for image classification.
- Implement deep learning optimization techniques, along with hyperparameter tuning.
- Implement and fine-tune SOTA architectures in PyTorch and applications in domains such as image classification, object detection and segmentation.
- Understand generative modeling in deep learning with Variational Auto-Encoders (VAEs) and Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and applications in image generation, style transfer and so on.
- Understand TensorFlow, Keras3, KerasCV, and KerasNLP.
