About

Dr. Deep Mukherjee is an applied microeconomist particularly interested in quantitative analysis of socio-economic and public policy issues. He received MS and PhD from the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Connecticut (USA). His research spans multidisciplinary areas intersecting agriculture, energy, and the environment. Apart from expertise in quantitative methods like Econometrics and Data Envelopment Analysis, he is also skilled in fieldwork and survey design. He has more than 15 years of combined work experience in multiple roles in academia and industry. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals. He has edited volumes for Scopus-indexed book series and supervised PhD students.

His doctoral thesis focused on the economics of dairy farming in the face of climate change.


He has studied technology adoption and productive efficiency issues in agriculture.


He has interest on efficiency and technology adoption issues in banking.


He is also interested in economic aspects of air pollution.
