Dr.(h.c.) A.V.S. Murthy has been spearheading the educational leadership of RV Educational Institutions since 1984. A charismatic & visionary icon, his work as an industry leader and academic pioneer has earned him the praise and gratitude of many who have worked and benefitted from his ideas & principles.
An alumnus of Bishop Cottons School, he was a rank holder at BMS College of Engineering and was declared the best outgoing student from Mechanical Engineering. He completed his masters at the Kansas State University with a specialisation in Flour Milling & Animal Feeds Manufacturing.
Appointed as the Honorary Secretary of Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust in 2003,Dr.(h.c.) A.V.S. Murthy was instrumental in the growth of RV Educational Institutions (RVEI) as an educational ecosystem that has successfully catered to the constantly upgrading academic requirements of this century. Under his leadership, several noteworthy institutions specialising in Technology, Management & Health Science Education were added to the RVEI.
He is currently serving as the Director of Krishna Industries Pvt. Ltd. & Mysore Vegetable Oil Products Ltd. and as the Independent Director of Sunil Agro Food Ltd. As Vice-President, he also contributes to the academic endeavours of Vasavi Vidyaniketan Trust, Vasavi Educational Trust & Karnataka Arya Vysya Charitable Trust.
He is the Managing Trustee of Alampalli Venkataramana Setty Savithramma Charitable Trust and the Governing Council Member of Canara Bank Relief & Welfare Trust.
The Government of Karnataka recognised his valuable commitment and service towards education by conferring on him the Rajyotsava Award in 2018.
