Parvaz graduated with a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Jindal Global Law School in 2019 and postgraduate from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) London with a MA in Gender Studies. His dissertation thesis explored the state’s narratives on creation of normalcy and the outsourcing of violence by democracies. During his undergraduate degree, he worked with Centre for Human Rights Studies on a project mapping anti-sexual harassment policies and the working of internal complaints committees in Indian higher education institutions. He has also worked with human rights organisations, on matters surrounding denial of political rights and violations of human rights.
Parvaz’s research and pedagogy is located in decolonising knowledge production, using feminist epistemologies. He is working on bringing activist practices and everyday ethical negotiations in conversation with urban aspirations and desires. To this end, his interdisciplinary and ethnographic research explores liberal multiculturalism, secularism, freedom in modernity and challenges the legacies of eurocentrism and americentrism.
Dr Riya graduated from the University of Hyderabad with a PhD in Cognitive Science. Her doctoral research focused on how bilingual experiences influence cognition using behavioural and eye-tracking measures. She is also interested in understanding the role of executive functions in psychopathology and cognition in older adults. During her time in NIMHAS, she was involved in a project on how literacy influences cognition. As a researcher, she wishes to apply the tools of science to improve human life and communicate the same with those who can benefit the most from it.
Kalyani D is an alumna of NIFT Delhi, Master of Design – Specialization in UI/UX, Design Thinking and Design Research, she won multiple awards for her Thesis – Innovation in Kinhal craft – A Languishing craft of Karnataka under the Ministry of Textiles. Worked as Senior UX Designer for startups and Unicorn companies for building PaaS Platforms and Website Designing.And she also believes in optimizing business goals by solving human problems through user research and design. I have taught Postgraduate and Undergraduate students on a plethora of subjects related to Digital Design , UIUX , Social Innovation , Interactive Graphics and Immersive Technology -AR from Chitkara University-Punjab, Jagannath University – Jaipur (Sitapura Campus) , Pearl Academy and Jain University. Along with a flourishing career in UIUX, she also enjoys facilitating Design Thinking workshops with clients and other stakeholders to co-create more holistic solutions.
Shabbeer has an industry experience of 3 years in computer vision, machine learning and related areas. He started his career after M.Tech. as an Assistant Professor in MITS Madanapalle and served four years. During this period, he taught core computer science courses like Data Structures, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Theory of Computation, Optimization Techniques, Compiler Design, etc.,. After which, he joined Indian Institute of Information Technology Sri City to pursue his Ph.D. He worked on “Neural Architecture Learning for Image Classification” problem under the supervision of Prof. Viswanath. As part of his dissertation, he published 4 peer reviewed journals (Neural Networks, Neurocomputing, Neural Computing and Applications, Multimedia Tools, and Applications) and one conference (ICARCV). After his Ph.D., he joined PathPartner Technology Pvt Ltd, Bangalore as a lead engineer. Later, he joined Lytx Inc as Senior Machine Learning Scientist. During his industry journey, he worked on building low compute deep learning models, neural network compression, multitask learning, active learning.
Dr Anuradha Chatterjee is an Indian-born Australian academic practitioner in architecture and design based in Australia and India. She has over twenty years of experience in research, teaching and administration gained through various academic positions in Australia (University of New South Wales, University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney, University of Tasmania, University of South Australia), China (Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University), and India (Manipal University Jaipur, Srishti Manipal Institute of Art Design and Technology, Pearl Academy and Sushant School of Architecture), where her focus has been on developing critical and research-based pedagogies in studio and history and theory subjects. She has held prominent academic leadership roles in India as Dean, Faculty of Design, Manipal University Jaipur; Dean Academics, Avani Institute of Design; and Head, Research and Innovation, Pearl Academy where she was responsible for institution building, establishing cultures of academic excellence, enhancing internationalisation initiatives and research outputs, and driving a high-performance culture based on inclusive and embodied leadership. Dr Chatterjee has also worked in professional practice in Australia, as Senior Research Executive at PTW Architects; Senior Architectural Researcher and Heritage Advisor at Cracknell and Lonergan Architects; and Guest Curator, Customs House, Sydney. She has an active and diverse research record, and her publications speak to an expansive field of research inquiry. Dr Chatterjee is Regional Editor Asia Pacific, TEXTILES: Cloth and Culture; a Registered Architect at the Council of Architecture, India; and an Associate of Australian Institute of Architects.
Dr Baishali completed her PhD at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2013. She is an active researcher in the area of Nanotechnology and Sensor Development. She is the recipient of Early Career Research award from SERB-DST. She completed several Govt funded Research Projects as Principal Investigator including funded projects from ISRO . Under the ISRO sponsored project she and her research team developed a miniaturized graphene-based X-ray detector for space application which is handed over to ISRO as the technology deliverable.
In addition to her academic career, Dr. Baishali is a passionate Hindustani Classical vocalist. She received Sangeet Prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti ,Allahabad at the age of 12.She received taleem under renowned Gurus like Pt. D. T Joshi and Padma Bhushan Guru Jnan Prakash Ghosh. She takes out time to train students in Hindustani classical music. With her sister, Dr. Baishali has composed “ Hindustani Raga in fusion style” and “Tarana in Fusion style” which are available in her youtube channel SARGAM.

Dr. Vidya M J is currently working as Assistant Professor, School of Computer Science (SoCSE), RV University. She has 12 years of teaching experience in the field of Embedded Systems, Signal & Image Processing. With a Ph.D. in Secured Signal & Image Data Transmission from Visvesvaraya Technological University, M.Tech in Signal Processing from R V College of Engineering and B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering, VTU.,she also bags experience in Start-Up initiation with successful productization like “ AmruthaHani – Automatic Theertha Dispenser – a solution for a social cause”, Dantastra etc., She has worked collaboratively with Industry, Hospitals and Institutions like CISCO, National Instruments, Emilite Solutions, St Johns Medical Hospital, RV Dental Hospitals, IISc, GKVK for joint research projects and development of real-time solutions, through MOUs. She has published articles in Scopus Indexed Journals.
In addition to her academic career, Dr.Vidya is a passionate Yoga Trainer. She has bagged Post Graduation Diploma in Yogic Sciences from Karnataka Samskrutha University, recognised by Govt. Of India. Additionally, being a life long learner, she is serving as a Yoga trainer in the International Wing of Yoga for a voluntary organisation of Shri Patanjali Yoga Shikshana Samithi (SPYSS) since 2013. Dr. Vidya is a facilitator for “Happiness Program”, Laughter Yoga based sessions for academic institutions and community associations.
Dr. Priya Nair is a Professor of Psychology and Dean, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences (SoLAS). She has more than 20 years of teaching and research experience in Psychology. She has also contributed to the process of developing a robust UG program in Psychology. She was involved in the process of institution building of the first liberal arts university in India and continues to do the same in her current position.

Writing contributions to some leading periodicals, journals and websites in India, which include Book Review Literary Trust, Seminar, Aniketana of Karnataka Sahitya Academy, Indian Literature of Central Sahitya Academy, Hampi University Kannada Studies journal, e-stq, the theatre journal, Prithvi – the theatre journal published by the late veteran actor Shashi Kapoor, Out of Print, Dhouli, Desha Kaala, Sanchaya, Abhinava, Bhavana, Ninasam Matukate, Kendasampige and others. Served as the Editor of the Karnataka Sahitya Academy literary journal, Aniketana. Edited ten books, some of which are Shakespeare in Kannada, Women’s Writing, Rural Consciousness in Kannada, Young Writing, Book of Interviews and others.
